Cats trust their eyesight more than they trust their smelling

Cats can't complain about their eyesight, nor their ability to smell - their  senses like many predators, are well developed. However, they still trust their eyes more than their nose.
Zoologists from the university of Lincoln had done an experiment: cats are let into a labirynth, in which to recieve a treat, they must find the correct direction. The choice on which way to go could be made by scent, or visual cues. Researches showed the cats two pieces of paper, with a scent, or with a drawing. The correct path was determiend by the right combination fo scent and drawing.

When the cats learned the rules and how to determine wther a combination if sorrect or not, the experimental conditions were changd - the combinations were made up of scentst and pictures which were contridictory to eachoter. So now, four out of six cats trusted the picture, and only one relied on scent. The sixth didn't seem to have a prefrence.
Of course, the results recieved must be tested on a bigger number of "volunteers". Besides that one of the volunteers chose to follow their nose rather htan a picture, so in this case it's better to say that, that most, but not all cats rely on their eyesight more. On the other hand, we can say that the advantage of the specific sense depends on the enviorment, as in cats from the country would be diffirent from city cats. But after all of this, it is determined that the development of all these sense sis quite flexible, and it's no-less impressive and surprising. Before we build up any new theories, it's worth it to wait for new experiments.
